Holland Park traffic chaos

lorry-in-hole.jpgShocked onlookers watched as a manhole collapsed under the weight of a lorry in Holland Park.

A lorry was turning in Holland Park Avenue when its front wheel burst through an electricity manhole cover in the road, at around 11.50am yesterday.

Traffic was held up for around an hour as police officers worked to free the trapped lorry.

An onlooker, who alerted the police, said: "The traffic was building up, and so were the tempers."
