Gas leak in Earl's Court Road

A build-up of gas underneath an Earl's Court supermarket has lead to an evacuation.

Around 15 residents living above Sainsbury's in Earl's Court Road had to spend a night in alternative accommodation last night.

A police spokeswoman explained that a 'gas build up' had prompted the move. The site was declared safe by Transco at 3am this morning.

Man dies in stair fall

A man in his 40s has died after falling down stairs in Brompton Square, Chelsea, on Saturday night.

The London Ambulance Service was called at 7.55pm following reports of someone being 'taken unwell', but on arrival found the body of a man - who has not been named by officials.

dariescu.jpgThe next Kensington and Chelsea Music Society (KMCS) recital takes place this Wednesday, October 29,at 7.30pm at the wonderful Leighton House in Holland Park.

The second concert in the 2008/09 season sees pianist Alexandria Dariescu perform pieces by Mozart, Ravel, Bartok and Chopin.

Venezuelan dishes were amongst the treats on offer as representatives from the Latin world explained their culture to interested residents during a fiesta, held to a backdrop of tango and samba beats.

TMO fraud arrests in Chelsea

Four men were arrested in Danvers Street, Chelsea, last week, following allegations of fraud brought to the police by Kensington and Chelsea Tenant Management Organisation(TMO).

The men, aged 30, 58, and two aged 65, were brought to Chelsea police station but not charged. It is understood Allan Erickson, a former board member of the TMO, was one of those questioned.

Bracing for Westfield opening
