Trees planted in North Kensington
Trees were planted at the entrance to the canal in a neglected part of North Kensington.
A team of staff from nearby business Courier Systems as well as grounds maintenance staff from Kensington and Chelsea Council worked together on Tuesday morning last week to get the 12 silver birch trees in the ground.
"It's quite a neglected area and this will really improve its appearance and make it look much more attractive," said North Kensington's environment manager Terry Oliver.
"And we managed to get a local business to contribute to the scheme."
Kensal Road-based Courier Systems provided three staff to help with the digging in one of what the council has identified as neglected streets.
Lead member for regeneration, environment and leisure services, Cllr Nicholas Paget-Brown, helped out too in what has been named the North Kensington Environment Project.
