North Kensington Gas Leak Evacuation

More than 50 flats in North Kensington were evacuated at 9pm on Sunday after a gas leak.

Occupants of Block B on the Peabody Trust Estate in Dalgarno Way spent two-a-half hours in their community centre while National Grid workers capped a leaking pipe outside their homes.


They were allowed back after the pipe was sealed and National Grid hopes to make a permanent repair today.

The centre was opened by one of the residents who is a key holder.
