Film fun at Holland Park School

A visit from a famous film director gave Kensington pupils an insight into the world of the movies.

On Friday, children at Holland Park School in Airlie Gardens, Kensington, met director Oliver Parker, who was behind the recent film release St Trinian's, a comedy about girls in a private school.

The director spoke in an assembly and showed pupils some props from the film as well as recording equipment and storyboards.

Mr Parker's other films include The Importance of Being Earnest and Othello. He is currently working on the film Dorian Gray with Colin Firth, adapted from the Oscar Wilde novel, which is due for release later this year.

The director was invited to the school as a supported of an after-school club called FILMCLUB, which gives pupils free weekly access to classic and popular films.

We'd like to hear from you.
