Letters to the Editor
From RUPA-DEY AMIN NSPCC head of local fundraising

I WOULD like to say a big thank you to all of your readers who have done their bit to support the NSPCC throughout 2009, our 125th anniversary year.

Funds raised during the year have allowed us to introduce new developments to our ChildLine service, so that not only can young people continue to call 0800 1111, but they can now receive support via the website www.childline.org.uk contacting us through email, online messageboards and one-to-one counselling.

Money raised locally really has had a terrific impact.

Earlier this year, we called on all adults in London to be alert for signs of abuse and to take action by calling the NSPCC helpline. This remains a crucial way that readers can play their part in ending child abuse. If you have any concerns whatsoever about a child's welfare you can ring the NSPCC helpline on 0808 800 5000 or email help@nspcc.org.uk.

Another way you can help is by raising funds or taking part in the NSPCC's biggest ever Aerobathon on Monday, February 8 at a leisure centre near you. To find out more, please call 020 7650 3200.

We'd like to hear from you.
