I WAS not surprised to read your article of April 9 reporting that Mr Meltzer had accused the council of ushering in a new expenses regime in an attempt to cover up the unlawful spending that has gone on in the past.
For many years, the leader of Kensington and Chelsea Council, Merrick Cockell, has lived the high life on taxpayers' money, with first-class trips to New York, San Francisco and Boston, staying at five-star hotels and indulging in expense account entertainment.
WORNINGTON Green is not a 1960s housing estate, as I have seen it referred to by the council. It was built around 1980, only 30 years ago.
Are we really saying that buildings now have a life of only 30 years?
