Tributes to woman killed in Kings Road
Neighbours of a Knightsbridge woman killed in a collision with a security van have paid tribute to her happy, friendly nature.
Mary Anne Hodges, 60, of Eaton Terrace was crossing Kings Road, Chelsea at about 11.10am on Wednesday June 23, when she was involved in the collision.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, Ms Hodges was declared dead at the scene.
A post mortem took place at Westminster Coroners Court the following day, and gave the cause of death as multiple injuries.

This week neighbours spoke of their shock at the death of a woman they had come to know well over the years she had lived in Knightsbridge.
George Sewell, 56, who has lived in Eaton Terrace for eight years, said: "I just can't believe this has happened.
"Mary was such a friendly person to know, she'd always say hello in the street, and always seemed happy in herself.
"I only saw her on Wednesday morning as well. It's awful to think that that was the last time she left her house. I just hope she didn't suffer too much."
Another resident in Eaton Terrace, just two doors down from where Mrs Hodges lived, said: "I'm in shock. Mary was such a lovely woman. She was always immaculate, so was her house, but she was also very friendly.
"I don't think anyone could have a bad word to say about her. She always seemed so happy, and everytime I saw her she would stop and have a chat.
"It's just so hard to believe she's gone. My heart goes out to her family."
Police officers from the road death investigation unit are investigating the collision, and anyone with informations should call them on 020 8041 9011.
The driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and was bailed to return to a south London police station in September

I feel the need to correct some of the imformation in this article.
It is indeed a very sad story which would benefit from fuller research. 1) Eaton terrace is Belgravia not Knightsbridge.
2)Mary Anne lived with her mother who had 2 children,Mary Anne and a brother. Her mother has children and grandchildren-not Mary Anne.
3) She was not Mrs Hodges, her mother is Mrs Hodges she was Miss Hodges.
The correct part is that she was very friendly and our neighbourhood and the shop keepers in the Kings Road/Sloane Square are very shocked and upset by her death as she always took the time to stop and speak.
Everybody had enjoyed friendly contact with Mary Anne over the years and she will be sadly missed.
A floral shrine was set up outside M and S by friends and traders and it is evident from the tributes how this sad event has touched the community.
