A tree-planting ceremony marked the fruition of an ambitious project to create a new health centre with a comprehensive range of services in North Kensington.

Local MP Sir Malcolm Rifkind had a spade at the ready for the official launch of the St Charles' Centre for Health and Wellbeing, which has been developed over the last three years to address the health care needs of around 10,000 registered patients in the north of the borough.

House prices in Kensington and Chelsea have stopped falling and are beginning to return to the record levels seen six months ago, according to new figures.

The average price paid for a home in the borough in October was £862,267, up 1.5 per cent since September, and nearing the £864,000 figure recorded by the Land Registry in April.
