A new all-weather garden was completed at Earls Court Nursery just in time for the children to enjoy their time in the snow.

The Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor James Husband, cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony for the garden, which includes a play area and nature study space.

It cost £18,000 to build - a sum given to Kensington and Chelsea Council by the government for the project.

Tom Fitch, chairman of the nursery board, said: "We are very grateful to the Royal Borough, who raised £18,000 from the government for completely refurbishing the nursery garden. Their help has been fantastic.

"The new garden will provide educational experiences and a fun place to play in. It includes a soft play floor for the children.

"Now they can play outside and the parents know they are safe."

In the spring, children at the nursery will be growing food, to teach them how the things they eat arrive on their dinner plates.

We'd like to hear from you.
