Cromwell Road closure after man plunges to his death from four storey high scaffolding

A MAN plunged to his death from scaffolding four storeys high on Cromwell Road Sunday morning, resulting in the road being closed for a number of hours.

Police were called to the scene by concerned passers by who saw the man climbing up the scaffolding at Cromwell road at 11:04am.

Fearing that he was preparing to jump or may fall, witnesses at the scene called police who arrived at 11:08 along with the London Ambulance service and the fire brigade.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police officers attempted to reach the man by entering the building but could not make contact with him. At 11:17am trained negotiators were called to attends the scene however at 11:47am the man had plummeted four storeys to the street below and was declared dead at the scene."
